Software, essays, and design by Matthew Crumley

Matthew Crumley

I’m engineer by profession but not confined to its stereotypes. I stay informed and enjoy debating current events. In my free time I dabble with art, writing, and game design. Above all, I enjoy life with my wife and pet terrier.

Proxy Vote

Proxy Vote is a commercially licensed Wordpress plug-in I developed for my own community. When my homeowner’s association needed a quorum for an important meeting, I offered the Board a new option.

Immigration

This is a story of paperwork, waiting, and interviews. By that I mean immigrating to the United States of America. I’m happy to say it was all worth it. My wife and I learned a lot from the experience and want to share our story with others.

Web Design

Through experimentation and practice, the art of web design can easily transition from one’s hobby into a profitable venture. I’ve transitioned into for-profit development but I still do pro bono work.

Graphics

I’m an amateur graphics designer; I’ve created logos, manipulated digital photos, and dabbled with 3D. Thanks to open source software a world of new possibilities is opening for the amateur.
